Life is different for everyone, but in some ways it is the same. Mine involved a need to learn and develop many different skills and abilities before I became a designer. I went to college right out of high school with the desire to be a marine biologist but I quickly realized that I was not good at proving my knowledge through tests, so I decided to stop school and to start living life. I have worked at various jobs through my life such as construction, management in fast food, retail and banking, and fast food ownership. I was a successful salesman, both in stores and door to door, and I was often recruited into other sales jobs. I have worked in land surveying, writing deeds and right-of-ways and locating underground utilities. I have even fulfilled one of my dreams by opening and running a video game business. I realized eventually that I had skills and experiences that were good for life but I was not doing what I loved. I have a passion for art. I went back to Weber State University, finished up my generals and enrolled in the art department where I quickly picked up the name of “Big T”. I learned to love being critiqued to constantly improve upon my talents. I finished my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Visual communications and knew that great things were to come. I have very much been enjoying my life as a designer. I love being able to bring my life experiences and knowledge into the design world to enhance my personal style. I have finally found my niche and a career that enables my creativity to explode. I do not regret the crooked path that has brought me to where I am, because it has made me that much better at what I do now. I am that designer that puts his heart and soul into his work but is not afraid to listen to what other people have to say to make my designs better. My life has been the same as many others. I have done many jobs that others have done, but through it all, I have become an extraordinary person who stands apart from all others with a talent for art and the ability to express life through design.
I have been specializing in print design for the last several years and have become very proficient in adobe creative suite, primarily using InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Through the process of using these programs I have also had to continue to use my knowledge and skills in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Acrobat.
Web Design
I know that websites are a core to all businesses and the first impression many people have about a company or a personal website. I am developing my skills in WordPress, HTML-5 and CSS to keeping up in an ever changing world of website development.
Photography
Photography has been a hobby and passion of mine since I was 12. It has changed in so many ways since then and I continue to enjoy improving my skills and mastering photoshop.
